Assessment of the Green Plot Ratio on private properties

MASAE partnered with an international hotel chain to help them monitor and advance their environmental goals. The focus was on assessing the Green Plot Ratio (GPR)—a measure of the amount and types of vegetation present across their properties. By accurately mapping and analysing vegetation, the hotel chain could better assess its overall environmental impact.

Why This Matters

Hotels and resorts are increasingly aware of their responsibility to protect the environment, and water use is a key concern. By tracking the Green Plot Ratio, property managers can make smarter decisions about landscaping, irrigation, and conservation, ultimately reducing their ecological footprint and supporting sustainability.

Our Approach

MASAE leveraged advanced technology to deliver precise, actionable insights:

  • High-Resolution Satellite Imagery:
Using the latest in satellite technology, we captured detailed images of each property.

  • Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning:
We applied a sophisticated AI segmentation algorithm to automatically identify and map different types of vegetation across the properties.

  • Comprehensive Data Analysis:
The results were compiled to generate clear metrics showing the proportion of vegetation on each property, providing a reliable baseline for ongoing environmental management.

Results and Impact

With MASAE’s solution, the hotel chain gained:

  • Accurate Vegetation Mapping:
Clear, data-driven insights into the green spaces on each property.

  • Sustainability Metrics:
Easy-to-understand indicators to track progress toward environmental goals.
